Punjabi Dal Tadka


Ingredients:-

:: 1 cup split black gram dal (urad dal)
:: 1 large onion (chopped)
:: 1 small ginger (chopped)
:: 3-4 garlic flakes (chopped)
:: 2-3 green chillies (chopped)
:: 1 tsp ghee
:: 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
:: 1/2 tsp coriander pd (dhania pd)
:: 1/4 tsp garam masala pd
:: 1 tsp turmeric pd (haldi)
:: 1 tbsp lemon juice
:: 2 tbsp lemon juice
:: 2 cups water
:: salt, pepper, red chilli pd (to taste)

Method:-
1. Wash and soak dal for 10 min in water and then drain water.

2. In a microwave safe bowl (glass bowl) add ghee and all the spices
and microwave for 2 min. at 100% power.

3. Add chopped onion, ginger, garlic, chillies and microwave for 3-4
min. at 100% power.

4. Add soaked dal and 2 cups water to it. Microwave (covered) for 10-
12 min. at 100% power and then at 60% power for 8-10 min. Stir in
between.

5. Allow to stand for 5 min. with green coriander and lemon juice.
Serve hot with roti/parantha.
